Tonight, the stars lay their glittery blanket down
While the moon gradually wears a wispy cloud gown
There's a wind, that gently rocks the sweet gum trees
When missing you is a prayer, I'm on my knees
Wishing upon your bright star, are you happy there?
You should still be here, anything less isn't fair
Comfort lies in that you have been released from pain
A quick wave, the pent-up tears I cannot contain,
out they wail, from a deeply lacerated heart
I know your earthly vessel had to depart,
to finally find rest, after an arduous fight
If I could unravel time, your story I'd ghostwrite
Edit the bad chapters, rewrite a better end
I carry you with me, living for two, my friend
