As I hike off into the woods,
I hear the wind thread through the trees,
feel his frosty breath skim falsehoods
Catching me unaware in threes
Wild turkeys shuffling down the path
They sense me still lost in deep thought
I'm not the kind to exert wrath
I'm sure they don't feel trapped or caught
Just a two-species encounter
Even stopping to stare at me,
like a curious downtowner
Peace, we let one another be
